The stunning Yunguilla Valley stretches for miles east-west, beginning around 45 minutes outside the colonial city of Cuenca near the town of Girón. Girón is located around 7,000 feet (2,000 meters), with breathtaking cloudforest and the popular El Chorro waterfall. The Yunguilla Valley extends from from Girón to Santa Isabel (~ 5,200 feet / 1,500 meters). Thanks to its altitude and orientation, Yunguilla receives mild and warm weather, as well as common all-day sunshine and blue skies.

The temperature typically varies from 44-63 degrees Fahrenheit (6-17 degrees Celsius), and is rarely below 39 degrees Fahrenheit (4 C) or above 67 (19). There are two seasons: the rainy season, from January to May, and the dry season, from June to December. The temperate climate, fertile land, and beautiful views combine to make this small area a unique destination.
